Glass drills
The glass drills are adapted to the specific characteristics of glass and ceramics. The cutting edge geometry is constructed in such a way, that problem-free drilling of these hard and brittle materials is executable.
In our assortment we offer spoon glass drills with steel shank and soldered carbide edge.
Application conditions:
Spoon glass drills are applicable only as machine drills.Horizontal drilling is favourably for the wear characteristics of the drill and the quality of the drill hole.The article, which is to be drilled, is to rest upon evenly and keep as movement-free as possible.By drilling through the article, the pressure to the tool has to be reduced strongly, to avoid a breaking out of the glass at the edge of the drill hole (perhaps drilling from both sides).The drilling of shifted winding and floor tiles is possible, but you have to pay attention, because the tool can be damaged, when the drill contacts rough concrete constituent parts.If you use a percussion drill to the application, the impact machanism has to be switched off!It can be drilled with or without plentifully coolant. Water is sufficient.In case of thick glass we recommend to you a nose angle of the drill edge from 60-90°, in case of thin glass (thickness until 3 mm) 60° are appropriately. |
