Recommendation for the use of core drill bits
In the kind of the edge material and the edge geometry of the soldered edge teeth a basically distinction is drawn between two types of core drill bits:
- Hammer core drill bit
- Diamond core drill bit
Every type of core drill bits has special advantages when drilling. The application of the core drill bit acts in accordance with the material to be worked on and with the machine which is used.

1. Hammer core drill bits "type 1"
Hammer core drill bits "type 1" have carbide tipped edge teeth with an oneside bevelled edge roof with a clearance angle. These core drill bits are particularly suitable for the use with hammer dills with smaller to middle achievement. At these machines firstly the rotary and egde movement and secondly the slugging movement is working. They are suited for light application cases in brick, masonry and lightweight concrete.

2. Hammer core drill bits "type 2"
Hammer core drill bits "type 2" have carbide tipped egde teeth with an an oneside bevelled edge roof with a lip angle. These core drill bits are conceived for the application in hammer drills with high achievement and with activated chisel and rotary function. The wedge profile of the carbide tipped plate provides for the fact that the material which is used to drill will be smashed by the tool. This core drill bit is used for the hardest application cases in concrete and natural stone. For a better removel of the drill dust the base body of the core drill bit has a conveyor spiral at its perimeter.

3. Diamaond core drill bits
At diamond core drill bits several presharpened diamond segments are soldered hardly on the base body. They may not used with the slugging function only used with the rotary function. The chisel function of the machine is always to be switched off.
They are particularly suited for the drilling in steel-reinforced concrete, natural stone and ceramics. If it is possible we recommend the cooling with water.
For a better drilling the diamond segments are teethed and self-sharpening.
