On March 1st in 1994, Mr. Peter Herwig (Dipl. Eng.) established the company Herwig Bohrtechnik Schmalkalden GmbH on the site of the former „Werkzeugkombinat Schmalkalden" and of the company „Gebrüder Heller". With ist competence and experience the company concentrates on 3 fields of business.
A traditional field of business - it concentrates on development, production and sales of carbide tipped tools. These field includes core drill bits, adaptors and fittings, drills, chisels, tile cutters, firmer chisel, carving tools, carbide tipped and diamond tools.
An efficient field of business - it comprises of tourned work pieces for the hydraulic industry, automobile industry and other tool manufacturers.
And an individual field of business - the most interesting business field and a special strength of the Herwig Bohrtechnik GmbH is the development and manufacture of special tools as well as new products for the demanding building sector. Every year approx. 3-4 developing projects, which are at these demands co-ordinated or from customers ordered, are worked on. The aim of every problem formulation is to realise the new-developed tools with the available technologies rationally and at a reasonable price in the serial production. Since its foundation the company can refer to approx. 30 patents.
